Crispy Fried Tofu

This recipe for crispy fried tofu is a flavorful and filling dish that works well as a main course or as a tasty garnish for rice bowls, stir-fries, and salads. Before being perfectly golden-fried, the tofu is dipped in a flavorful concoction of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and aromatic spices.

Ingredients:

  • 1 block firm tofu, drained and pressed

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

Cut the tofu into rectangles or cubes


Combine the cornstarch, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger powder, and garlic powder in a shallow dish


Make sure the mixture covers every piece of tofu evenly


In a frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat


Gently place the coated tofu into the heated oil, cooking it in batches if needed to prevent crowding


Fry the tofu until it becomes crispy and golden brown, about two to three minutes per side


Take out the tofu from the pan and set it on a plate covered with paper towels to absorb any extra oil


Enjoy while hot!
